I know it's not slicing, but if you just want to shorten a long note, you can use draw mode to cut the tail of a midi note.

Late to the party but was wondering as well.

Erosion in sine mode seems to be just like a ring modulation. I recreated an almost identical sound in Shifter with ring mode. But no clue about the other modes.
