Not exactly the same problem, but this is how I fixed it:
(using Windows 11, Ableton Live 12, usb2/printer cable connected to a usb3 converter into the laptop)
Verified that the driver was there:
Device Manager>Sound, video and game controllers>Keystation 49
...but Ableton Live 12 would not ...
