I don't know enough about hard drives to suggest anything detailed but if there was some way of altering certain settings for it (after backing everything up) this might be the right sort of thing to try.

I have since activated the authorisation and the problem persists.

I have 145GB of space available and am just trying to record some songs, not start a project that contains lots of sampling etc ...
