Is it possible to map the X-Y pad on the Korg nanoPAD to effects in Live? For instance if I wanted to mess with the flanger, could I map the nanoPAD to the flanger's X-Y controller?

Ah, but in Sonar Matrix, the scenes play in vertical columns, as opposed to horizontal rows. So it's totally different

Is the guitar an acoustic? If so, you'll want a mic for the vocal and a mic for the guitar. You'll also need a recording interface that can capture 2 inputs at once, like a PreSonus Firebox. Then you just create two audio tracks in Live, arm them both, and record.

Crafty, I had almost the same setup and the exact same problem as you a few months ago. As cube mentioned, you can try ASIO4ALL, which will help, but it only helped a little for me when I tried it. Latency was still very noticable.
