Re: problem controlling pitch of makenote [SOLVED]

Turns out I just needed an [int] in there, right before the makenote. Works great now!

problem controlling pitch of makenote [SOLVED]

I am trying to build a sequencer type device, the basic idea is that a metro object sends pulses through a live.numbox (to set the pitch), which then goes to a makenote. My problem is, when I change the pitch in the note selector numbox (by dragging it with a mouse etc.), it outputs a huge blurt of ...

Re: Emulating a basic blues/rock guitar riff

You've already found the "best" way. MIDI pitch bend is only per-channel, not per note, so you have to send the notes on separate channels.

Re: Band pass filter in EQ8

You can already do this pretty easily by: 1. Make an Audio Rack containing a single instance of EQ8 2. Make one of the EQ8 control points a hi-pass filter and another a lowpass (so together, they act as a bandpass). 3. Map the frequencies of both control points to a single Macro knob in the Audio Ra...

newbie M4L MIDI question

I am working on my first M4L experiment, which is a MIDI effect that will hopefully let me detune individual notes in a scale (via pitch bend) as a way to play alternative scales/tunings on instruments that don't support different scales. I'm trying to use midiselect objects to make a cascading if/c...

Re: Just had a demo of Cockos - Reaper

I'm very impressed with Reaper. Incredibly stable and very featureful in most of the important ways, and an incredible value. 60 dollars is for the non-commercial license. If you plan on selling your work (more than a dozen copies to family and friends etc) you are supposed to pay for a commercial l...

Re: Amplitube + Live 7 = SUCK!

I have most of IK's software and they are consistently unstable (at least in my experience using them previously in Cubase 5). yeah, it's not just amplitube but none of them ever cause problems in reaper Thanks for the tip, it seems much more stable in Reaper. IK support tells me they've got an upd...

Re: Are you a creative Consumer or Producer?

Old blues recordings from the 1930s wouldn't have the same character and soul without that scratchy lo-fi sound. wrong. Blues can indeed have character and soul even when it sounds good, for example if you are listening to someone playing it in front of you. I didn't say "blues", I said &...

Re: Are you a creative Consumer or Producer?

I ran across an idea a while ago, I wish I could remember where, that a creative medium is defined by its limitations. A poetic form like a sonnet is given character by its strict metrical requirements (similarly, the rigid rules of musical counterpoint). Old blues recordings from the 1930s wouldn't...

Re: Amplitube + Live 7 = SUCK!

Unfortunately it looks like the plugin is just as unstable in Sonar 8. At least Sonar wrote a crash dump, which I sent to IK.

Re: Amplitube + Live 7 = SUCK!

I've also been having problems. Live 7.0.18 Amplitube 3.0 WinXP 32 bit 2.88gHz Core Quad, 4GB RAM Fireface 400 w/latest drivers+firmware EDIROL PCR-500 control surface I've had five crashes in about 10-15 hours of use, most of the time Live just drops me back to the desktop with no error message or ...

I am planning on marketing a line of vintage boutique road-worn guitars. They come with bent tuners, a chipped nut, shorts in the wiring, and input jack that's half unscrewed. Very authentic sound.

When you automate the loop length, it is tweaked by a resolution as specified in the global quantization menu. (You can also automate the quantize resolution with another controller). If you need finer sample-accurate resolution, another method is to render your loop to a wave file, then load it int...

Also rapidix you might want to look into some Presonus interfaces (like the Firebox), which are pretty affordable and a step up from M-Audio. (One problem with M-Audio is that they have practically non-existant Vista 64 support right now for any of their gear).
