Thank you for the reply. Just out of curiosity, is this a coding thing? All my other daws have this feature except for Ableton and Bitwig. Or the way audio is handled within the daw?

I use a lot of drum midi packs as starting points for tracks. Has ableton added a proper way to preview drum midi with the selected drum vst yet? It really slows the creative process having to drag each file to the session to get an idea of what you’re working with. The midi sound is useless for ...
