Btw if you want to experiment with this kind of stuff yourself I would recommend starting off comparing Eq's - safe to say the differences can be quite staggering.

Re: Going Native...

i would hazard a guess that most people have far more tools than they have expertise in using them. the software/hardware music industry is constantly waving shiny new things in our faces. funnily enough, often the shiny new things are old things with shiny new faces. however, until you are really f...

Re: Ableton 10 live, best vocal settings/effects

the most important thing with making a good acoustic recording is a good raw capture. i suggest again that you post a raw recording can so we can hear it without any processing of any kind. and how are you and the mic positioned in the room? where is the mic, where are you, and where are you and the...

Re: Ableton 10 live, best vocal settings/effects

lots of reverb, especially a wide stereo reverb, makes the vocal sound small and pushes it away into the distance. this is the opposite of the warm, intimate, close vocal sound you are referencing. if you want opinions on the quality of the recording, post a sample of the raw microphone track, witho...

Re: Ableton 10 live, best vocal settings/effects

I recorded a short clip in a loop, to let you know how it sounds. Sounds weird, right? https://instaud.io/3pVz so what exactly is your "pretty good mic"? and where/how are you recording? the mic, mic placement, mic technique and the room are all very important. it's a bit hard to tell as you've dro...

Re: Are there any statistics on how many people use Live 9 vs 10?

the thing with Native Instruments is that their hardware and software breeds like rabbits, and it's just too much work for them to support it all. i have mostly steered clear of their stuff for this reason.

Re: CPU usage in Live 10

for best performance a music production machine needs to be configured like a live performance machine, which means minimising background processes. Norton in particular have been hobbling Macs for many many years!

Re: Live foot controller other than Behringer?
