Re: Bitwig drops the CPU Bomb!

I use both Bitwig 3.2 and Live 10.1 - I find Bitwig faster generally (loading, scanning VSTS etc) and I get better results with Bitwig in terms of CPU and latency with the same buffer size (I am on Windows 10 64 bit i7 SSD). Bitwig has improved a lot 'under the hood' since V2. how are you quantifyi...

Re: Cant select 96k sample rate???

Having an issue with Abelton live 10.1 (Mac). I want to change my project sample rate to 96k, but when I open preferences under Audio - in/out sample rate it is only showing 44100 and 48000. What do I need to do??? are you using the internal audio interfaces? the capabilities of each gen iMac vary ...

Re: Rendering overdriven Audio creates 0dB File - what does Ableton do here?

0dBFS is the maximum possible level of a rendered file, by definition. the audio will be hard-clipped. depending on what you have rendered and your playback equipment, you might find it hard to hear the clipping...

Re: Need help picking equipment (midi keyboard w/ pads vs. buy pads separately)

separate units! personally i avoid all-in-one devices of any kind.

the only real upside to all-in-one devices is that they usually take up less physical space.

never again will i own a boombox with a broken tape deck, haha.

Re: add more memory to my mac

nope, not possible. you cannot upgrade the RAM in Retina MacBook Pros, it's soldered to the board.

Re: Crackling And Popping Problem

test the HD500X on another computer to rule out if it is faulty or not.
try another audio interface on your computer to see if the problem is specific to the HD500X.
you could also try different USB ports on your computer. is it a laptop or a desktop?

Re: Crackling And Popping Problem

have you followed one the many guides on optimising a Windows machine for audio production? (maybe you have since you've used LatencyMon). if not I'd do that next to rule out all the other main possibilities.

have you tried a different audio interface? maybe it's an issue with the Line 6 thing.

Re: Compressor

the threshold setting sets the sensitivity of the compressor. the lower the threshold, the sooner the compressor kicks in. compressors are usually triggered by the same sound that they are compressing. in sidechain mode, a compressor is being triggered by a different source instead. in your example,...

Re: Sustain Pedal Set-up Problem

what instruments are you trying to play?

to figure out what's going on i'd suggest first checking that the right MIDI messages are being sent, using a MIDI monitoring app. free options include Snoize MIDI Monitor for macOS, or MIDI-OX for Windows...

Re: Brand New MacBook Pro 16'' - Loud Fan Noise

that said, i'm having a weird issue where live's CPU report is way off of osx's. 1% in live is 10% in osx, 10% is 50%, etc. that's because they are showing completely different things: https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209069609-CPU-meter-shows-a-different-value-than-the-Activity-Monitor-T...
