Re: Any Improvements In The Audio Engine Of Ableton Live 10?

You should read Live's "Audio Fact Sheet" . FYI: If you record in ableton and have a low buffer (one that produces audible sample error glitches while monitoring) Guess what? Ableton records those audible glitches to disk. Pretty serious audio engine / sonics issue if you ask me. Ableton tech suppo...

Re: Any Improvements In The Audio Engine Of Ableton Live 10?

To me I would say it's a subtle difference but something I could pick out on a blind test. i suggest you do a precisely level-matched double-blind test — this needs to be repeated many times to reduce sampling error. just saying you think you could pick it on a blind test is pointless. the audible ...

Re: Live 11 - Mysterious Feedback

It could be hubs, external drives, wifi routers, mics, who knows! or you screen's light/contrast setting's! I'm not kidding, I have an at least 10 years old screen, and there's a certain range of light and/or color settings on it that causes interference in my Yamahas (but not on my Eve...) yep, my...

Re: Why do I get distorted/crackling sounds?

if you want to persist with your old beast then i would suggest doing a clean install, blowing everything away and starting installing everything from scratch. a machine that long in the tooth is likely to have a large amount of accumulated cruft by this point. however, even so it is still going to ...

Re: Why do I get distorted/crackling sounds?

a few ideas for you: - see if you have the latest driver (or best driver for your system) installed. - it's best if the interface is plugged into its own USB port on your iMac, not into an external hub. - you could also try disconnecting all other USB devices to see if one of those is causing proble...

Re: What do I do when Ableton fails to respond to support requests?

hi there, i don't know if you've done this already, but if not i'd suggest using Midi Monitor to check out what messages are being sent and from where: https://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/ and in the short term you can filter out the unwanted messages, maybe with MIDI Pipe: http://www.subtlesoft.squa...

Re: ableton with sonarworks reference 4

you could use Sonarworks Systemwide instead of the plugin... This, for me, is an issue as SW Systemwide introduces a lot of latency. Is there any way (even with a 'dirty trick') to for example put the SW plugin on the cue/monitor out, like you would on your master? firstly, make sure you have Syste...

Re: The official day the fun died!

Every time we've tried to relax the moderation again a little bit, people start abusing that and we're back to square one with the forum not serving the purpose Ableton wants for the forums: People talking about making music with Live. moderating forums is a pretty thankless task. I've said this co...

Re: Boosting Input Level

some quick tips: #1 if possible (and necessary) it's best to increase the volume at the source — in this case the Volume knob on the DFAM #2 all the incoming signals do not necessarily need to be at the "same" level on the meters #3 do not aim to have all your channels peaking near maximum level on ...

Re: OLD MacBook and SSD card.

2014 macbook pro okay, so you have Thunderbolt 2 and USB 3 ports. a decent external SSD that connects via USB 3 will be workable for samples and other library content. the internal drive however will be much faster, so you it would be best to put the most critical stuff on the internal drive. how b...

Re: OLD MacBook and SSD card.

Hello folks. My main computer has died, and I am going to be using my older Macbook for Ableton from now on, but it has almost no space. If i bought an external SSD drive, would it be possible to install and run VST's, Ableton live packs/Native Access etc etc from the SSD? This seems like a simple ...
