Re: Is my latency good enough or should I try to get it lower?

that's a very respectable round-trip latency. the main impact of latency is felt/heard when monitoring through Live when recording or overdubbing. the maximum amount of workable latency depends on who is playing. some people can readily adjust their timing to account for significant amounts of laten...

Re: How to clean the rubbery coating on the sides of Push 2?

i recently noticed that my Push 2 is having the same issue where the TPE coating is degrading and getting sticky.

Ableton support said that they think it is to do with heat or sunlight, but my unit has definitely never been in the sun, nor close to a heater...

Re: Guitar too loud through monitors

it depends how you are monitoring your playing while tracking (recording).

it sounds like maybe you are using direct monitoring from your audio interface, so you aren't actually hearing what is being recorded...

Re: Basic volume/meter question

all metering values are calculated over a specific time window. you can see by the way that the RMS meter lags slightly behind the peak meter that its time window is slightly longer than that used for the peak meter. in theory you can calculate a single RMS value that includes the current state of a...

oops, i forgot to mention the colours. the bright green bars are RMS, the dark green bars (which almost always rise above the bright green) are peak.

Re: Volume Fader Question

the Live meters show peak and RMS levels. also, there are those small horizontal lines which are short-term peak hold meters. oh, and the number in the oval field is a long-term peak hold value (if you click on the value it resets to -infinity). peak levels show the absolute highest signal levels fo...

Does the Push2 offer control over Split Stereo Pan (two knobs per track)
or does it only work with the default Pan control (one knob per track)
?
Thanks very much!

Re: Audio interface conundrum

what kind of cables are you using to connect your synths? if you are using TRS (balanced) cables and the synth outputs are unbalanced (most likely), then that can cause level loss. also, guitar pedals are not made to handle line level signals. https://www.soundonsound.com/sound-advice/q-there-better...
