Re: Am I doing the right thing or should I give up on Suite?

IMO the way things look and feel is extremely important, especially when you are looking at a flat 2D representation. if an interface looks like a barrier to you, then it probably is a barrier to you. like any of our responses this experience can be modified, but when it comes to software and you ha...

Re: First question and it's probably stupid

Yes I completely understand what a bus does. That's not what I'm asking. In Logic for example a Aux track can have multiple effects on it. So for example if you were mixing drums you could bus each individual piece of kit and/or mic to an Aux track with EQ, Comp, Reverb, etc. And all of those effec...

Re: First question and it's probably stupid

a return track is just a specialised audio track designed to have one or more effects loaded on it, most commonly used so that a single set of effects can be shared by multiple audio tracks. i think what might be confusing you is that Live also provides the ability for return tracks to be sent to ot...

100% agree. concentrate on capturing the best raw recording possible. this applies whatever you are recording.

Re: Recording Spoken Word - Help required please.

gain staging is really important to maximise the signal-to-noise ratio. if you record at too low a level, then when you raise the gain (either with a fader or compressor) the noise will become more apparent. if you are in an acoustically noisy space, then a dynamic microphone can be a better choice,...

Re: New audio interface latency issues. Fire face UC

to be fair, although TotalMix is awesomely flexible compared to what is provided with most other audio interfaces, IMO it has one of the most confusing GUIs to wrap your head around. however, it's also important to understand the overall signal flow between your Fireface UC and Live. the overall pic...

I also look for the instrument which looks kinda like empty tree branch with some shels or sand inside, making this shimmering noise.

i had a similar experience going from a top spec 2014 quadcore i7 to a 2018 hexacore i7, big performance boost.

2012 i7 (4-core) to 2018 i7 (6-core) give you 20-30% more at best, but I am sceptic that will even give you that.
the Geekbench stats suggest that the 2018 2.6GHz hexacore i7 has 30% higher single-core and 67% higher multi-core performance than the fastest 2012 model.

Re: Getting 2018 Macbook Pro, Top Spec for Ableton Live 10? Good Idea?

...if you really want to go for a 2018 model you should choose the 6 core i7 version due to themal problems with the i9 version inside the "old" chassis...the 2019 i9 8 core is what i'd choose... agreed. for a 2018 model i'd go for the 2.6GHz hexacore i7. the 2019 model has an improved keyboard too...

Re: External Audio Effect Problems w Guitar pedal

sounds like a routing mistake in Live. what kind of audio interface, and which channels of the interface are you using? also, when you do get it working, the output signal from your audio interface will be way too hot for the guitar pedal (because guitar pedals are not expecting to get line level si...
