i cant believe it. switching from laptop to desktop energy scheme (should be automaticly as soon as there is detected that the laptop doent run with battery anymore...) shows something between 1/3 - 2/3 less cpu usage. dont know if i should be happy that the problem is so ...

i also have the problem of bad performance but I am running cubase sx3 on windows via bootcamp. could anyone tell me if there is a tool like coolbook or any other possibillity to gain performance on windows xp (running on a mac with bootcamp)?

god to see that you understand what i am on about. seems that this is the only possibility to handle the whole mixing thing digitally because as you already said there is a kind of "relationship" between you and the record.

didnt read the whole thread maybe it was already said but live seems to have problems with the santa rosa chipset or any other component of the macbook pro which has this chiset inside. massive difference in performance when compared to logic for example.

very bad performance when using softwareinstruments on a macbook pro with santa rosa chipset. already wrote a mail to ableton but didnt get any solutions. i am using logic 8 now. stunning interface and absolut brilliant performance.

yes testing the beta is a very good idea.

apart from ableton are the applications fine and the second highest is the activity monitor itself (and it is very low).
the laptop has 2 gig ram. Live doesnt crash but starts acting a bit slow and the adio is distorted with dropouts.
rosetta is not enabled. the activity monitor says something about ...

activitiy monitor says: cpu: 120, threads 8 , real memory 134 mb, virtual memory 1,08 mb for the process live when i am triggering 5 voices of the minimonsta plugin as vst plugin in live twice (10 voices together).
in logic i can get at least 40 voices of the same plugin with the ...

just dwnloaded the update to 6.0.10. the checkbx is there but unfortunately it is not ticed and i still have a very bad performance.

i have the same problem (macbok 2,4 + bad performance with live)
when i click ctrl i it shows some infos about ableton but it doesnt say anything about rosetta (maybe because of leopard???). unfortunately i dont know how to do a screenshot otherwise i could post.
