Obviously if BT has something that can do it then the software exists, however, I thought it would be a great complementing instrument for Live. It doesn't seem especially difficult to adapt from existing technologies like Simpler either.

Or you could just go into the clip and drag the notes up one octave.

Really unstable. I used to use Buzz before I started using Reason. The whole setup for the way Buzz uses it's machines is picky at best. They're not as refined or as easy to support as VSTs are. For instance, a lot of machines in buzz rely on the fact that trackers use steps and would get confused b...

Sounds like Set Nesting might be the next big thing? The idea makes sense, although I'm not sure if it would break the Live paradigm or not. It would be cool to create a complex set, then bring it into another set as though it were a sample, slice it up and arrange it. If you want to change somethin...

I have no idea how much a standalone D-Beam controller costs, or if one even actually exists. D-Beams are built into several Roland products like the MC505 and SP-606. For all we know, BT could simply be using the twin D-Beam configuration on the MC505 to control his autoslicer.

Auto Slicer

This idea stems from several areas. First, I recall reading an article in Keyboard Magazine where BT was explaining how he does live sample slicing using D-beam controllers. Basically he had a sample running in a custom piece of software and the D-Beams controlled the start point within the sample, ...

Nevermind, I figured out a workaround. I simply armed the midi track for recording, hit record, and recorded a small blank clip. I then stretched it out and added notes to it.

You need to arm the track for recording AND click on the Master Record button at the top. Then, when you playback and fiddle with the knobs, your automations are recorded.

Blank Midi Clips?

Having only worked with the Live 4 Beta for a few hours, I'm wondering if it's possible to create blank Midi clips? The reason for this is that I have no midi controllers hooked up at present and wish to draw notes in by hand. As far as I can tell I must drag midi clips in from the browser. Is there...
