Re: APC40 MK2
They look great, but imho it's a pity that the mk2 has a 5x8 matrix and not a 8x8. But yeah I guess it's a very individual choice what you value more (space vs knobs)

Re: Anyone use a dual core Macbook Pro with Ableton?
reeloy, that's an very good point. would you say that the current 13" is really more silent while working than the 15"? have you compared it? one additional question...are you doing any serious work on 13" screen or is it just for portability reasons... and all work is done with an ex...

Re: Anyone use a dual core Macbook Pro with Ableton?
I dont't think there is a right answer to this. I'm in a similar situations between the 13" and the 15". Keep in mind that the 13" is faster than my 4-core desktop from about 4-5 years ago and I still don't have any real performance problems with this thing.

Re: Update LIVE 9 for RETINA !!!
The other thread wasn't quite right. You can change the resolution to mimic non retina resolutions, but scales the graphics when you do so. So you might be able to get rid of the fuzziness people see here, but at the expense of all the graphics being twice as big, including your mouse pointer. :x l...

Re: Live 8 on a 13" retina display (pictures)
@Daniel_S When it is like you wrote I do absolutely agree. I suggested exactly that a while ago, but a mbpr user replied that it's also a problem with interpolated settings (using 1650x1050). I don't have a mbpr so I couldn't and can't test it myself. Furthermore I think the best thing with mbpr is ...

Re: Is all this power helping us make better music?
Is all this power helping us make better music? no. I was one of the GAS driven people... but when I have learned something in the last 10 years it's that it makes no difference if you have the highend stuff or not. It's just your skill that matters. with other words.... music technology is fun, bu...

Re: if you have kontakt would it make sense to get sampler?
yes, I use sampler 90%. I love the workflow for simple samples or as the standard sampler in drumracks. I only use kontakt when I have to (time streching etc). that said kontakt5 does also have drag&drop audio from live into it's(..kontakts) sample slots, that feature was ne main reason I got sa...

Re: quick question:duplicate loop and play it immediately
Thanks for the idea, but I'm afraid that is too much overhead. Especially with longer loops you have to check that you trigger the clip in time (when you have another 4 bar clip running it's easy to mess things up when you start it on the 3rd bar). My goal is to stay in the "flow". merry c...

quick question:duplicate loop and play it immediately
Does anybody have an idea how to get this? I redefine some workflows at the moment (I really like to work mpc style). - I record a clip (2 bars) in session view - After some time I decide that I want to keep the clip as a drum pattern and just want to add another layer on top for a variation - So I ...

is there a erase note button/function on push?
I don't own push but I'm considering to buy one. I'm really like to work MPC stlye to tap in my clips with the pads in a cycling loop. I'm already using live with 3rd party controllers this way, but I still have to use the mouse for many tasks, which breaks a bit the workflow. One thing I really mis...

Re: Is there a way to change the clip color palette?
too bad. Is it the same for you? the black text is really hard to read with the pure blue and red clip color here. It's almost hard to look at (that said I have a calibrated tft monitor)

Is there a way to change the clip color palette?
Maybe somebody does know it here... I really don't like the clip color palette in live. Many to intense colors (poping too much out of my monitor)... I prefere them a bit more pastel.
Is there a file where one could define them?

damn, it doesn't work when precounting is none. With 1 bar it works fine.
