EnjoyRC: are you saying that running Live 4 on your osx machine does not have these problems? gaspode: large RAM chips for laptops are still very expensive these days (cheapest I can find the 1GB chips for my laptop are $226.49 a piece). My laptop will take up to 2GB of RAM, but I need to know for ...

Any general suggestions for these type of issues would be much appreciated. I'm running the exact same setup - Inspiron 8600, 512MB RAM, etc. I'm having the same problems: audio dropouts. Is there a laptop that runs this software without these problems?

exact same problem here...HELP! This rules out this great software for "Live" work until I can figure this out. Dell Inspiron 8600 Pentium M 1.3 w/ 512MB RAM. I'm trying to run a few VSTi's at once as well as audio loops (Steinberg Grand, Trilogy, EVP73). Not a lot of physical memory left,...

VSTi overloads w/ dropouts after rest

I have this kind of overload when I don't play my VSTi's for bit. They are still "loaded", but when I come back to it there are drop-outs in the audio like crazy. I wish that the program would hold all of the sound in memory even when I'm not playing it. I assume that this is the issue...a...

I'm going to ask the Ableton dude at the NAMM show today how to do this. An M-Audio guy told me yesterday that you should be able to send MIDI through your ReWire master, but I'm not sure he's right about that. I did get a good demo of Live 4 from him yesterday, and it is fantastic. The few things t...

I am using my VST instruments in Nuendo. I want to control loops in Live via ReWire with the sliders and buttons on my MIDI controller at the same time. Nuendo is the ReWire Master, Live is the ReWire Slave. I set up my MIDI template in Live and then cannot access it from Nuendo. How can this be done?

Controlling Live via MIDI as a ReWire Slave

I run Nuendo as my ReWire Master so that I can play my VST instruments with Live. I want to be able to use my MIDI controller's buttons and faders to control Live. Live is unable to open my MIDI controller via Options -> Tools and does not receive the MIDI transmission. How can I control Live via MI...
