Glad I held out as well. The APC's short, non-motorized faders were a real turn-off for me. A pair of Launchpads...here I come!

It would have been nice to have a automated faders to mimic the position in the software but I'm sure that would have blown the price out.

Behringer seems to have figured out how to produce cost-effective flying faders. But, well, that's Behringer.

i would personally find it very convenient if (at least) midi cc's up to 128 were available as automation parameters on the external instrument device. what i mean by this is that ...

Cubase does this and it works really well. You have a volume slider for each midi track just like audio, where it sends anything between 0-127 (min to max volume). All that Live would need is a volume slider on a MIDI track to do this...
