This is awesome! My only crit would be that it's all buildup and no payoff. I agree that it sounds like Styx. It also reminds me of Green Day's Panic Song

There's never ANY bass when I listen through my laptop. Sometimes I show my friends works-in-progress and just tell them, "okay now imagine you can hear awesome bass with this."
