Re: Live 9 will not allow me to drag mp3 to audio track
EDIT: this is only true for 64bit! I'm sure I read somewhere there is no longer mp4 support (or whatever it is iTunes and other encoders put in the mp4 wrapper). There was in Live 8 (I can open my Live 8 and drag and drop like you say) but not in Live 9. It is a bit of a pain in the arse to be hones...

Being more productive in and out of the studio
Hopefully this post will help a few people on here... I hardly ever manage to get everything done that I want each week, especially making tunes. So as part of research for the blog and the book we contacted a productivity expert (and read a few books on the matter too). Here's a short post with som...

Re: What's the difference between a good and a great producer?
We have a lot to thank Eno for over the years. I love watching interviews with him. I think it does run deeper than the article suggests, especially if you move out of EDM. We often consider greatness purely in terms of how to appeal and provide something of value to others. But some producers reall...

Re: Free guide to success in the music industry
How did you do this really kick ass website? Ah thanks man, took me quite a while to get that working :) - we didnt want a cheap-ass website like you see for some other books, felt like that should represent the time and effort that went into the book. The site is done in Fireworks and Dreamweaver ...

Re: Free guide to success in the music industry
in the time since you've posted this it's already out of date. repeat after me... "would you like fries with that?" Hopefully not. We stayed away with trends, gimmicks and short-lived cheese to favour the long-term game, making something that will appeal to others while still staying true...

Free guide to success in the music industry
Hi everyone, thought this would be of interest to fellow Abletoners! Over the past couple of years we've been planning, researching, interviewing and finally writing a book on how to make it in the music industry. This is pretty much the world's first guide to building success in the music industry ...

The Thrillseekers talk DJ gigs, gear and full moons
Hi everyone,
Here's an interview I did with Steve Helstrip (aka The Thrillseekers) asking him about his career, best gigs, and when he produces his best music. Thought the DJs and producers out there might enjoy this. He's a top guy.

LEME weekend music production and business - anyone goin?
There's a conference for music producers looking to make it in the industry that looks pretty good. Talking about branding, business and marketing as well as the music production side of things. We had a chat with the guys running it to find out what it's all about and why it's £140 well spent... ht...

How to get your house music played by Michael Woods
Hi guys, This is a short piece over on Lost In Musik about how to get your music heard. We had a good chat with Michael Woods at IMS Ibiza, proper sound guy and got some serious talent - whether you like the music or not, to have done trance, house, prog, AND have had a UK number 1 this year has got...

Re: How to make your music more exciting
everything is a statement. I don't understand the value of the advice beyond - if you don't believe in your music why are you bothering to make it. the author should find some examples of tracks that aren't statements. alternatively they should explain what they mean. thanks for sharing, but I don'...
