Melanie from Ableton Sales was very helpful when I e-mailed her about the location of my UC-33. She responded immediately with a tracking number, and was very prompt and friendly with my follow-up questions. Have you tried e-mailing them. (My UC-33 took a little over two weekes to get to the West Co...

Yes MD is the way to go.. I use a Sharp Mini Disc recorder because it offers variable recording levels which Sony does not. I picked up a pair of stereo mics that I use to record my band's (and other) live shows and found sound. These sound great and are small and stealthy: http://minidisco.com/sp-c...

Oh yes.. AU in live would be so wonderful. I use DP4 too and since that is going AU, I'm wishing I could use the same plugs in both programs without getting involved in rewire. I hate that plug-in companies often try to sell you only one version of the plug. For instance, I'm drooling over quadfroma...

I'm not trying to hound you on this I swear, but where do you get the idea that there are 4 analog inputs? There is a difference between "Inserts" and inputs. The m-box has 2 analog "inputs" and 2 analog "inserts" which are a different thing altogether. (see my first post) I'll put it to you this wa...

Not sure about the previous question, but back to the Mbox. Will Live 2.1 take advantage of the other 2 analog inputs on the Mbox? What Other 2 Analog inputs? :?: The m-box can only bring in two channels. Am I wrong about this? I had one for a few months then sold it. I think you are asking ableton...

The m-box does not have 4 inputs or outputs...
Those other two 1/4 inch jacks are TRS inserts for inserting effects into the signal chain, not seperate inputs. The m-box only has two outs so you would not be able to prelisten with it. A device needs to have more than two outs to pre-listen.

yes, with DP4 going audio units, this is going to be my plug-in platform of choice too.

I'll put in my vote for Live with Audio Unit support.

:D Yes, all hail Clyde Stubblefield, JB's fantastic funky drummer. Give the drummer some! I'll second that! Clyde "the glide" Stubblefield is still touring with the "Masters of Groove" (with Grant Green Jr. on guitar and Rueben Wilson on the B-3) He plays his ass off. Go catch him if you see them p...

I might be reading your question wrong, but have you gone into Live's Bus screen and unlinked the input stereo tracks to make them mono? Are you saying that the monitoring of inputs is stuck in stero, or your outputs? As far as programming the MOTU mk ii goes, that all occurs in the included cuemix ...

Not untill your mbox grows more outputs.

You can pre-listen in mono if you are willing to use a mono main out. (see live DJ tutorial on this site for an explaination)

I just ditched Protools LE for a MOTU 828 and DP4 (I had been using DP before) I'll tell you my main complaints about Protools> I feel that they have a smug business plan were they rely too much on the notion that they are "the standard". Witness the fact that they are only JUST NOW adopting Rewire!...

Are you all using an external hard drive? Internal Laptop Disk speeds are usually too slow to relaibly serve up lots of audio. Adding more RAM and an external Firewire drive greatly reduced this problem for me. When the drop-outs happen does the little red "D" disk error light dome on next to the CP...

Live requires an audio interface with more than 2 outs to pre-listen. M-box only has two. There are many (search the features request) that would like to see implement a system where you could select the built-in sound of a laptop to pre-listen while using an external sound unit, like the m-box, to ...

damn! I just shorted out my keyboard with drool. 8O the real question is when are we going to see a g5 book. These chips run super hot it seems so it may take some clever engineering. The PB g4's took a while after the towers.... I've been waiting to get a new PB until job's did his thing today, hop...
