Re: new ambient/beats album - download free (for now!)

Creature has an interesting vibe to it and the breathing sounds like something from Blair Witch :) but it adds nicely to the tension of the track. Funny you say that because I was thinking of sampling a bit from Blair Witch to use on a different track. Ended up not doing it. Thanks for listening! :D

Re: Dub EFX routing query...

Is there anything a normal channel in Live can do that a return channel can't? :?: I always thought they were exactly the same. (Except that a return receive audio from sends, and a normal channel can't, obviously). Return channels can't contain clips or instruments (so actually, the clip slots in ...

What if you got no e-doo-kay-shun and no skills?

Seriously though, click my links, tell me I'm a solid producer, I want to hear it :-)

new ambient/beats album - download free (for now!)

I've just completed my new album Physics . I find it quite hard to descibe it musically: a mixture of downtempo beats and dark ambient weirdness. If you like Boards of Canada, Biosphere, or Plastikman, you might like this. If you like em all, you'll probably like this a lot. The album will be self-p...

I wouldn't say I was gutted with the new virb, but mildly pissed off. Even though I didn't spend a lot of time on my old site, it still looked a lot better than it does now. Thanks Virb! Also I'm not too chuffed at their decision to try and clone facebook... that's something I don't need, and surely...

I lived in both places. You won't be sorry whichever you choose. Glasgow has the better music scene. Edinburgh has the festival, which means every digeridoo-laden motherfucker in the world descends on the place, and gigs get rather hard to find. In general, Edinburgh is more oriented towards tourist...

Right, my MBP soundcard is crap compared with my previous powerbook's and does the same modem-ish noises as you describe... And apparently many of the MBP released last spring have this problem. It's not even the soundcard, it has to do with the motherboad itself, so if it's still under warranty yo...

two new dark ambient demos - think Biosphere

I put a couple of demo from a forthcoming ambient project. If you like Biosphere, you may well like this.

People keep repeating this matra about macs built-in soundcard being good ... It's actually not awfully good at all. Horribly noisy. My second laptop (vaio) wins over the mbp hands down. I don't know if the Mac Book and Mac Book Pro have the same sound card, but I have to agree with you here - the ...

OR - put the EQ in a rack and map its controls to the rack's macro controls. Then you set the upper and lower end of the range as you want.

Don't have good speakers to listen here, but here's a couple of criticisms: * kick too quiet * no one can use that walking bass anymore without everyone thinking of Billy Jean; on the other hand, Billy Jean is a great track, so maybe not a problem. * Not enough progression or variation. A tune shoul...
