The cross-fader starting acting strange at first... i'd pin it all the way to the right
and it would slowly drift 10 to 20% towards the left on its own... weird.
i took it apart and tried cleaning with compressed air ...

There ISN'T anything quite so PORTABLE, efficient and DJ-friendly as the FaderFox DJ2 on the market yet, but its good to learn that a USB version is coming soon!

Yeah, i guess the X1 is meant to be used with a standard DJ mixer for the crossfades and such.

And the Xponent... well that's sure not portable at all! Only interested in a space-saving mixer that you can carry around the world in a backpack... along with a 17" MacBook Pro, Launchpad, MOTU ...

BTW: i bought my Launchpad used, and there was no manual with it. I understand that it didn't come with much of a manual anyway, but: There must be something out there that explains how to program the thing, besides the Novation Automap manual? can anybody refer me to some text download?

Thanks, good idea. but i think the "wants" are pretty simple. in fact the default "user 2" configuration would work just fine the way it is, and i could work my Traktor MIDI-map around the preset settings. The PROBLEM is that when LIVE fires up, it seems to wipe out the "user" presets... they're ...

OK i've spent half a day familiarizing myself with this piece of potentially great HARDWARE, bundled with the usual convoluted Novation software... friggin Automap.
I think i figured it all out... works great with LIVE, works great with Traktor,
BUT; WTF? you can't use it with both at the same time ...

hey, i've got a 17" macbook pro 2.93ghz w/4GB RAM and 500GB/7200 hard drive, and no major complaints with LIVE 8 operations, except that opening big projects takes a LONG time, and viewing/copying/pasting certain CONTENTS of projects from within the browser hardly ever works... long spinning wheel ...
