I finally got it to work - it looks like the file path I was using to run the cmd line didn't have enough administrator privileges.
Thanks for all the suggestions - I couldn't have done it without your help and now I've got a quick way to consolidate files.

Re: Merging MIDI files after export
Because the first element after midiJoin defines the output-file, into which the input files are merged: Ah, got it. Thanks for all the help. It looks like it's something on my end. I've using Live 9 64-bit, but I doubt that's the issue. I tried pulling two random midi files from the internet (Katy...

Re: Merging MIDI files after export
Any thoughts on how to resolve the error: Error while reading Harmonica.mid : file has 0 tracks (instead of 1) or Error while reading Guitar.mid : file has 0 tracks (instead of 1) I'm creating the .mid file from Live by click on the midi clip > click File > Export midi clip. Not sure why it would th...

Re: Merging MIDI files after export
Thanks for the help. That got me further, but it looks like there might be a bug with the tool. In the cmd prompt I type: C:\midiJoin.exe Guitar.mid Harmonica.mid Bass.mid I hit enter and the prompt says: Error while reading Harmonica.mid: file has 0 tracks (instead of 1) If instead I type: C:\midiJ...

Re: MIDI export
+1 for being able to export multiple midi tracks to a single midi file (i.e. a file that has multi-track midi info).
Being able to do so makes using other software much, much easier. And it looks like most other DAWs do this already (e.g. Cubase, Logic, FL).

Re: Exporting multiple midi tracks to Finale ?
Hi Alison - unfortunately you cannot export multiple midi tracks at the same time (i.e. you cannot create a single multi-track midi file).

Re: Merging MIDI files after export
Hi kamih,
Does your tool work with Windows 7? Or maybe I'm missing something?
I downloaded the .exe and .cpp file, double clicked the .exe, then there's a quick flash of a window (too fast to recognize, like it opened and closed immediately).
Any help is much appreciated.

Re: Cautionary Tale: Warped waveform doesn't match actual music
The more I think about it the more it makes sense it works this way. Warping really is just an effect with the "luxury" that you can get an approximation of the timing in the arrangement view. To see the actual timing, it would require live to recalculate the waveform every time you switch...

Re: Cautionary Tale: Warped waveform doesn't match actual music
Yeah, the start marker is at the same position. For example, to create the clip #2, all I did was highlight #1 and press Ctrl+J.Tarekith wrote:Is the start marker in all of the clips in the same position? I've seen Live accidentally place that a bit late after certain actions.

Re: Cautionary Tale: Warped waveform doesn't match actual music
That is an interesting find. To be more detailed, could you please also share the type of warp used? Are any other warp types equally problematic? Interesting question, originally I used warp type = beats. In the image below I consolidated the warped track (#1) using all of the warp methods and the...

Cautionary Tale: Warped waveform doesn't match actual music
For those that didn't know, the waveform displayed for a warped clip might not match the actual audio output. This seems kind of tricky since if you move warp markers, the waveform displayed in the arrangement view changes (to me this implies that the arrangement view displays the actual timing of a...

Re: How to use velocity zones in a rack
Thanks for trying to recreate. It's really odd, cause if I change the range to be 1 to 100, it works, but 1 to 99 doesn't. It's like there's something special about "99". This works: http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/3949/effectrack1to100.jpg http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/4615/arrangerfu...
