Maybe I'm missing the point here, but if you play your basslines in midi, why not just use "Chord" and/or "Scale" (in the Midi effects section) to shift notes up an octave. Just set up Chord +12 and map the on/off button to a midi controller. To fatten up the sound more, just use...
