I'd say cut that ambient piece down to 12 minutes and you'll be fine. Nobody wants to listen to something 28 minutes long anyway.

For what it's worth, I bought ST2 and found the sample library to be bland and lifeless. The stretch feature is also very quirky. It's on the shelf gathering dust.

I tried these this evening and they worked great:

East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra (Kompakt)
Steinberg Virtual Guitarist

BFD gave me a lot of performance issues, but that's nothing new with that resource hog.

I honestly don't know. This is the only forum I visit besides the Les Paul forum. There must be some other "Sheridan's" out there I guess. What forums are they? :o

To be honest, I don't know enough about how VSTi's work with Live yet to try, but I have it on the agenda.

IMO, any way you break it down, people who use cracked warez are basically thieves. I realize there are a lot of unfortunate souls out there who don't have the budget to buy software, but these products are intellectual rights and you should pony up if you want the goods. Everyone has to eat. Regard...

Let's talk about drums machines/synths in Live 4

I'm new to this great product, but I find the built in drum synth to be pretty limited. What are you folks using. I've always preferred to program my drums instead of using loops although I wouldn't object to loops if Ableton has any special magic to make it realistic. Drums play a real important ro...

It's about time! I'm glad to see someone here who is "excited" about Live 4. I know there are others out there but this forum is drowning in a sess pool of negative threads. Anyway, Live 4 has also changed everything for me. I am using DP for only one thing now. Surround sound. That's it....

Is there a published VSTi compatability list for Live-4?

I'm having issues getting some of my VSTi's to work properly in Live-4. One of my favorites, Fxpansion DR-008 drum machine completely hangs the program. It would be nice to know which ones are known to work and which ones don't. Thanks.

Ableton 4 is simply amazing!

Been using it for several days now and I still can't get over how easy & intuitive it is. This thing looks to me like the holy grail, and what every other sequencer I've used could only hope to be. I can see in the crystal ball a garage sale in the near future of a lot of my outboard gear and ot...
