Waves 9 AUs load fine for me, just not the VSTs.

Removing the preference file works for me. However, the Waves v9 plugs are still not loading. The AUs seems to show up, just not the VSTs.

All 64bit VSTs in the default VST folder are not recognized.


I actually think it's the system VST folder itself which isn't recognized, as opposed to the plug-ins within it. It doesn't even show the folder.

I agree with this. The problem does not seem to lie within the actual plug-ins ...

I tried your trick, and it worked--except that Waves VSTs still aren't showing up. Do you have waves VSTs showing up by any chance?

Unfortunately, I discovered that the bug with Waves AUs still exists in 8.4, making them a pain to use.

same here ( 10.6.8 ). i have a few 64bit vsts, but they don't show.
in fact, the actual VST and AU folders don't show up at all, just the AU folder contents/plugins.

I'm also having a similar problem with my Platinum collection, specifically the AU versions. Sometimes disengaging and reengaging works, other times it doesn't. The VST versions seem to process the sound but the metering is slightly off on certain plugs, such as the RCompressor where it displays a ...

When I try to render something from Live, on occasion I'll copy text info from iTunes song titles and paste it into the text box when naming my rendered file. It always worked fine in version 7, but this no longer works in 8.0.1 (mac). It's like version 8.0.1 doesn't even recognize the text ...

at least i am using groups tracks with live 7 :-)

i would love to see some more essential sequencer features, like cross faders
and faders at all would be good, too.

i have heared that the only new feature of live 8 will be more than 128 automateable midi parameters...

For me, that alone would be well worth the upgrade. I've been using Rob Papen's Albino 3 and I can't automate the parameters I want because they are all past the 128 limitation. I hope that's ...

When previewing audio from within the Live browser, it would be nice if you could fast forward/rewind through audio files that are long and contain many loops/samples in a single file. Not sure how the sync to tempo would work with that, but still a good idea.

I just found out that you can actually extract chains out of a drum rack, although I'm sure it's in the Ableton demo video on Drum Racks.
