Ahh, so maybe two way communication is not supported. Perhaps worth a suggestion to Korg as it seems like a nice idea to have save an extra interface/cable.

This is on similar subject but different. Does anyone know if it possible for Live to send tempo to the SQ-1 while the SQ-1 sends a sequence to Live BOTH over USB at the same time? It seems like it wants to do one or the other but maybe I'm missing something straight forward.

I'll second the vote for the Axe Fx. And another little workaround, Add an effect rack. Put two Utility Effects in the rack add the Looper to one of these. Map the Gain in each Utility to a macro. So I think I understand what you are asking for but I can't think of any looper that really allows this. The only workaround I can think of is to put the Looper on a return leave it in record mode and toggle the send to the looper on and off. This seems to do what you might be thinking,

Also for me it doesn't seem to matter what I send the Looper. It is like it is doubling in volume each time until it is digital white noise. Tried Analog, Operator, Electric, and even just Vinyl Distortion on its own.
