Modulation

Hi guys.. lately I've been expirimenting with modulation to get some crazy effects. Now I'm wondering how I can create a sound similar like this. It's a piece out of a liveset from Jon Gaiser. http://two.xthost.info/toob/Modulation.mp3 It sounds like ring modulation to me, or is it something else? W...

I'm ashamed at how little I've taken advantage of loop and repeat features. the implications for basslines and drums is SICK!! wow, nic...

I tend to approach variations mathematically. For example, if I have a 32 bar loop, I'll first make a drum fill at bar 16 and 32. Then I'll make a smaller variation at bar 8 and 24. Then I'll make a smaller variation at bars 4, 12, 20, and 28. This mimics the natural phrasing of a lot of music, and...

I think that answered UKRuss's question.. can we go back to the original question? It was really getting interesting with C.S.'s and michaellpenman's posts! Want more :P.

By the way.. marvotron posted this 808 emulation at KVR: http://relivethefuture.com/music/patche ... 8-v0.7.zip

Variations, transitions.. keeping things interesting?

Hi there.. let's get to the point very quickly. I'm having difficulties with keeping tracks interesting. In other words.. creating variations, transitions etc. The problem with Live is, when I'm creating something in the session view, that I spent a lot of time creating a nice loop which I'm complet...

Drums (or percussion) using Operator

Hi guys.. last week I followed an Ableton Live workshop and two producers created all their drums using Operator. I really liked that idea and I started gaining information. I read the Operator chapter in Live's manual, I followed the Operator specific Lessons in Live and I searched the internet for...

Battery 3

While using Battery 3 as a plugin in Live, is it possible to route all the different sounds generated by Battery 3 to a seperate channel in Live without starting Battery 3 multiple times? So you start Battery 3 (once) as a plugin and route the kick, the snare, the hihat etc. to different channels in...

Thank you for clearing this up and thinking with me from the beginning. My problem is solved by selecting another audio input device and audio output device in the audio tab from the preferences menu. Now I can alter my in/out sample rate to 44.1 khz. This way I can export my files at 44.1 khz witho...

How does the I/O Sample Rate affect the exporting-process if I may ask? (because my samples are in fact 44.1 khz and I have to export the MIDI track to 48 khz)

And what version of Live are you using and do the available sample rates depend on your soundcard? The only options I've got is 48 khz.
