This dogsonacid link doesn't seem to work anymore. Anybody else know where I can get ahold of instajungle for an Intel Mac?
Thanks, y'all!

Re: New Ableton user, have question!
I still maintain that the Launchpad+Nocturn is the lowest-price, highest potential combination. Don't get me wrong, the NanoKontrol with the scripts are amazing, but for about $40, you can get a Nocturn, which has endless encoders. And those endless encoders basically mean that you are set for life ...

Re: Do you use nudge buttons ?
I was just asking myself this same question! For those of you that use them: do you ever use them with the global quantize set to none? I can't tell if it's doing anything. I'm not sure this matters - doesn't global quantize just affect clip triggering and the clip nudge buttons in the clip view? I...

Re: What are some of the "must have" plugins for producing?
I use Automat and TAL-Bassline a lot. They are free and really easy to use. I also use TAL's dub delay quite a bit. Here is Loopmaster's list of free stuff. I'm still working my way through this list! http://blog.loopmasters.com/tutorials/free-tools/loopmasters-choice-of-free-fx-plugins-for-mac-pc-p...

Re: Beginners Guide to Ableton
I really think that Tom Cosm's introduction videos are some of the best out there. But then again, it's been awhile since I've been a complete newbie! Check out Tom's stuff. Here is a post from the Ableton Life blog that compiles a lot of tutorial vids. http://abletonlife.com/10-of-the-best-ableton-...

Re: What is a free plugin similar to Glitch but for Mac?
sexface, Mr. Bill takes 10 minutes just to set up his tracks, he starts to create an audio rack in an instrument rack then back tracks, and then I pull a nail out of the wall and hammer it into my face. If you're out there, love ya Bill and it sounds great! But any chance someone could summarize th...

Re: What is a free plugin similar to Glitch but for Mac?
The perennial search for a glitch plugin! If what you are looking for are random, but rhythmically applied, FX such as reverb and beat crusher, etc., I'd suggest you check out this useful tutorial from Mr. Bill on Glitch FX. It can show you how to do this using chain selectors and dummy clips in Liv...

Re: Drum rack/sampler "Release" setting vs note length?
Good question, one I've dealt with a lot! The answer really depends on your sample. If it just one kickdrum hit, I don't really think you have to worry about either jacking the release all the way up or making the note a full 1/4 note. This is because the sample itself will already have a "rele...

Re: MASCHINE MIKRO!!!!!!
djadonis206: Thanks! Two more questions: 1) You mentioned that you could do some things quicker on the Mikro than on the M1. Could you give us an example or two? 2) Based on the NI tutorial videos, browsing samples on the Mikro seems a lot more cumbersome. Any comments on this? Really appreciate yo...

Re: Music theory help needed. Scales.
I'm going to go the other way for the purposes of argument and suggest that, even within the 7 notes of a scale, some will sound "better" over a certain bass note. Let's say that you have a steady C playing in the bass. Unlikely, but possible. Over that, you have some keys playing C-G-E. T...
