did someone say "get my guitar out"?
maybe that could be the solution...

these days i'm pretty often thinking about simply doing some tunes with my piano and my voice... thanks to live i'm somehow fed up a bit with electronic music. you can't do anything wrong with live and i'm often wondering who ...

oh and yet another problem i had:
live makes it so easy to have something looped - so easy that i'm starting to simply loop everything.
then i let the song run for a while and suddenly all ideas are gone.

the way i work with logic is much more musical. i never loop anything, but only c/p from one ...

there was a time when i used live for composing - all music from that time was actually crap.
now i'm back on logic and i'm starting to like my music again.
i only rewire live for certain FX now and ofc, i take my songs to live to perform them.

after all i found live so easy that there was no ...

that kyma thing looks good.
but can it do things i can't (theoretically) do with max/msp or reaktor?
i'm not experienced with either one yet, but i own them and was wondering which was the tool i should get more involved with.
i guess they can do similar things, but the kyma looks more powerful and ...

granular to go

when listening to music from autechre or mouse on mars etc. i sometimes wonder if they simply have a multi purpose plug which rhythmically spits out cool granularish beats and voices when they randomly put samples in it.
whenever i try any of my granular synths/plugs etc., nothing useful comes out ...

new reaktor + live = unusable

hi
after i solved the last problem with reaktor (plug crashed during startup, was due to panther's FileVault feature) i encountered some more problems with the freshest reaktor version (and live 404). reaktor actually runs totally unstable in both the AU and VST versions and makes live crash every ...

if i recall correctly, it also happened to me in logic6 sometimes, although it happened in live more often. i'd guess it was more a 828mk2 issue than a live issue... has anyone contacted motu support about that? any firmware upgrades available?

experienced the same problem with my desktop g4 and my motu828 mk2 but actually also running logic6, so i'd guess it's rather a 828 issue than a live issue..? did anyone contact motu support about that? are there firmware fixes?

probably a bit overkill for most, but if you want to dig real deep, "theory of harmony" by Arnold Schoenberg is the book for you.
he explains really really well and is a master of composition himself. his book is one of the standards for everyone involved in music theory.
especially because he ...

my favourite link: http://www.amazon.com.

read a good book on that topic rather than surfing the web for years.
i'd give you some suggestions but all the books i know are in german.
