Why The Bridge Matters

To everyone bitching about how this doesn't reinvent the wheel: It does. I have been DJing for 7 years and for the first year of "big" success I was on Live (7 then 8 ) w/ all manner of controllers from Nanos to UC33e to the APC when that came out. After travelling throughout the region an...

APC 40 fader gone screwey - gig tonight!

I've been happily gigging on my APC 40 ever since release day and have had no problems until today, and I have a big gig tonight! Fader number 8 will, when assigned, only move half of the designated range. It feels fine physically, and it has nothing to do with my assignment setup as I've disabled t...

Word thanks a lot for the tips guys - so annoying when you're actually proficient in the program and can't figure out how to do something this basic.

Stupid question alert: do you just mean go back to session or is there a back to session button like back to arrangement that I've just never been aware of?

how do I completely delete everything in an arrangement?

I can't believe I'm having this problem as I've been DJing in Live for quite some time and have never had this issue come up. I'm currently trying to record a set I'll be playing at an upcoming show to see how long it is but when I did my first run recorded run through a clip launched a bar too earl...

Cool, thanks anyway - I guess I'll just MIDI map all those parameters then adjust for every track, but I'd hoped someone could give me some guidelines based on past experience DJing this type of music in Ableton (Crookers, Shinichi Osawa, Proxy etc.)

Compressor I --> Saturator settings for DJing electro?

So I've been looking for a quality limiter that can also maintain the things I like about Compressor I (i.e. making my tracks hit harder over big systems) and happened upon the post on here about putting Saturator with default settings afterward. Problem is, I don't really know how best to tweak the...

In case anyone's curious as to how I ended up setting this up, I used the third encoder from the left as a scene scroller (first two are my track faders) and the top two buttons in the lower right of the controller as track launchers with the two below for stopping. Works like a charm! Sometimes buy...

Quick question: I'm trying to map an encoder to scroll scenes now and don't know how to map it so it goes both up and down (the two functions are listed as separate maps.) How did you map yours?

use launch quantize and you can launch on time. I think I misspoke - I moreso meant not launching on the right beat but keeping track of where in the previous song I am. I often will use warp markers to indicate the best places to drop a new track in a previous song so I'd like to be able to keep my...
