Re: looking for new soft syth...
I like Sylenth 1. First of all, the simplicity of it allows me to learn. Nothing is more than a single click away. Second, it sounds good. Third, it's been around for a while and there are many presets out there. Fourth, it seems to have a low CPU footprint and doesn't bog down my CPU. Fifth, it's i...

Re: Automation in live, way more tedious than in most Daws
I would like to be able to draw exponential curves; really I'd like to be able to select from a range of preset line shapes. It's a feature that was in Opcode Studio Vision that I miss.

Re: impressions of Live8.2 installation
I did not sit with a timer during the installation, but can tell you it was all done- downloading, unpacking, installing- in less than an hour. Was cool to see Amp loaded in and ready to go.
Easy.
Easy.

Best way to install Live Suite on a new laptop
I have a new laptop and want to put Ableton on it. The software discs I have are for Live Suite 7, and over the months I've made the online updates to get to the latest version- on my old laptop. What's the best approach for getting Ableton up to date on the new laptop? Use the original discs as the...

I "totally" agree, risome1. I use debit cards online all the time and no issues. Furthermore, most banks take responsibility for card fraud. Credit or otherwise.risome1 wrote:Now that is totally untruelongjohns wrote:you're not supposed to use a debit card online

OK to delete previous versions as you update?
I just finished the update- all 700MB of it. As I get these newer versions of Live, I've been keeping the previous versions. Is it OK to trash these earlier versions? For example, I want to throw away everything except the latest version I have of live- http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd179/blast...

When I can afford it. If money was no issue, probably about every 3 years.

Re: Live8 is working well for you? no crashes? post your setup!
My reasoning is practical and has nothing to do with "best practices". I've got a nice bundle of Waves plugs on my PC desktop. Yet, I run Live on a macbook, and can't use the Waves plugs on it, since they're tied to my PC desktop (which has an audiophile 24/96 card in it running to some Ma...
