i'm calling BS on this.

just did a simple test.
a render completely nulls with a recording done to from a bus

most likely user error somewhere.

try this:
with ableton live open goto the live menu then select Quit Live.

also with an easy key command of apple+q

i make in other apps first.. then use live as my peformance tool...

i find it easy to make wierdo noises in apps the max/msp and reaktor and etc.. then cut it to a nice loop or phrase and play it in live

yeah.. don't worry about it.. just make it sound good and make sure its not tooooo quiet. (if you have an app that shows the RMS volume, -6db RMS is very LOUD)

dirty is right.. they pump everything on the radio thro compressors, etc etc.. make it go squish.
