Re: splitting bassline
I no longer use or have a Live installation to check it out. I created these in 2007/8 or so. It's easy enough for people to check/fix if needed. 24db filters are just stepper then the 12db.

Re: splitting bassline
One thing to note is that a frequency crossover is never transparent. In the analog world, a capacitor or inductor that make up a crossover cause phase shift starting about an octave above the crossover point. In the digital world, the algorithms that cause a separation of the frequencies have a si...

Re: splitting bassline
I've been looking at these racks and admit I don't understand why it would be considered more effective than using the multiband compressor approach (if you only need three bands like I am using). Also, could you explain the difference between the regular and 24db version of these racks? Thanks! So...

Re: What makes EQ plugins better than lives EQ8?
A built in analyzer is pointless for creative musical EQing. Use your EQ of choice & adjust while listening. It's really that simple. Just ask yourself "Does it sound good". With that in mind http://www.meldaproduction.com/freevstplugins/mequalizer.php or X-eq work well for surgical EQ...

Re: What makes EQ plugins better than lives EQ8?
So would the EQ8 be sufficient enough for me to split my frequencies into low, mid and high? Say I put more points to make a steeper curve? And what are peoples opinions on linear phase eq's? Just reading up on them now having only heard the term the other day :p It depends on how transparent you w...

Re: Inconsistent External MIDI Timing.
Over this last year I've moved from tracking with VI's back to mostly triggering analog synths. With this my midi needs have exploded once again. I don't believe Live is designed or focused on this type of workflow. I have enjoyed Live from ver 2 but I made the decision to stick with a more robust D...

Re: Inconsistent External MIDI Timing.
Interesting. The lower the latency the smaller the error. I wonder whats causing the problem.

Re: Inconsistent External MIDI Timing.
This is just midi. Plug a cable from an output of the motu then back into an input and record what it outputs compared to the source. It's been confirmed by others already on OS X as well.

Re: Inconsistent External MIDI Timing.
Can someone else on a windows box do a loopback test for me? Just physically plug a midi cable out & back into your interface, then record the output to confirm this is a mass issue or not. Would greatly appreciate it. My systems do this. with 2 completely different hardware setups. Very audible...

Inconsistent External MIDI Timing.
I'm trying to send midi out to my external analog synths/drum machines. I'm not trying to sync just send notes/trigger. For testing purposes I'm sending a simple 1/4 note kick loop to a DRM1-mkIII drum synth. The notes are inconstantly triggered. I have disabled all other midi ports/controllers. No ...
