Monitors are the backbone of every studio.

On that note: what's up with ears...?

Where did the keytars go at!?

I find it odd that just about anyone I know, if I say the word "keytar" they flip out and just think they're the coolest thing in the world. And I'm not talking about other keyboardists or retro-synth geeks...like, my mom, or someone totally oblivious to synths (actually my mom knows quite...

whoa

I just read the email correspondence on the first page of this thread.... WOW. The guy repping reFX is TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL! Even if the license is indeed true (and unjust, imo), his reply shows no customer value. That must of have been his last day at work or something... I hope you get it all st...

Logic is cool, don't worry about the apple discussion boards, they're only for troubleshooting and technical issues, so of course it's not going to look great for prospective buyers. :) The VIs are excellent, the work flow is top-notch. There are bugs just like any other program, but Apple is slow t...

while you're at it, multiple select should change track volume relatively, sends, mute, solo and anything else that multi-selecting would imply. Kinda like a temporary group trick...
Other Audio/sequencing apps do it, should be standard IMO.

inter-sample clipping

I just wanted to quickly add that when mastering levels really, really hot you need to take into account inter-sample clipping. The standard metering tools in most DAWs flag for overs, but do not flag clipping for the reconstruction of the sample. It's worth a much better and more detailed explanati...

Macro Map Mode: Put it on the knobs (and #boxes)

I've been thinking about how instead of greying out parameter's knobs when they are assigned to macros, you could actually use that space to adjust min/max values directly on a knob or number box. What I'm imagining is two nodes, green for max and red min and the distance between them can be blue or...

maybe not using hard left/right panning is better - something like 9:00 & 3:00 (left, right respectively) might give you more density. Using a delay plug before the reverb to create something like a 1/4, or 1/8 note predelay to enhance the "size" of the space (with little or no feedbac...

That HH is all about accents. experiment with velocities and put emphasis on the down beats and shape the OHH to bleed a bit on beat 1 of each bar (I was listening outdoors on laptop speakers however...) Also, for experimentation purposes; create a separate MIDI track and clip routed back into the b...

I think you got it. If you're going to xpose 8 MIDI tracks, you can set the midi plug once, then copy/drag that to the 7 other MIDI tracks. copy/drag is globally option+click+drag on macs (& PCs...?). I was just suggesting that you'll need to set the parameters once and simply copy the device se...

you're much better off changing pitch with MIDI than audio - keep the integrity of the audio as best as possible. Set the MIDI plug-in once, then copy/drag it to every other channel that needs it. If your project is organized simply or you're working with looped regions mainly - it might not hurt to...

word up

yes, I think we are having the same problem! Are you using a PC, or Mac? Either no one bothers to route MIDI from the host Sequencer (Cubase/Logic) to playback Live instruments... ...Or we are the only idiots who can't get it to work!! 8O As for your other Live 6 vs 7 Library issue: I think that is ...

are you attempting to sequence MIDI FROM Cubase TO Live? Or are you having issues just playing them together at the same time? Here's the post I started this morning... http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=87066 Posted this morning, but I hoped for some sort of response by now. I've also bee...

I too am having (perhaps) a similar issue. I just posted about Logic 8 + Live 7 rewired together. My issues seem to be centered around using Logic as MIDI sequencer, where more than 1 instrument playing drops out the audo and the system eventually crashes... Not many seem to have this issue however....
