Re: Focusrite Scarlett 18i6 - how much latency?

I own the 18i6 too. I am not sure what's wrong... I can set it too 2ms without problems, but my (reported) latency by live is still ~12ms. That's a bit strange when I set it at 2ms... If someone can clear things up for us? :)

Re: Glitches with screen refreshes/menu selects in Windows

When I have a single stereo clip playing in live, frequently i get nasty glitch noises when opening menus, minimizing/maximizing windows, etc. It only seems to happen when I am connected to my Tascam US-122. When I use MME/DirectX, things seem to work fine (or at least, a little bit better). I rein...

did you try to disable the wlan net work card? That sometimes does strange things to audio too. And the obvious thing to try is to increase the audio card buffer size: try a higher value. To exclude general problems of your hardware, try a different host/sequencer and load some samples and effects/...

does it also happen when not using any vst plugins? because i found some plugins to heavily screw up graphic performance when their gui is opened. just asking to rule out different sources of performance killers. I also got major problems with lives graphic engine. Live does not do cpu spikes but c...

make sure all battery saving applications from the manufacturer of your laptop are disabled/uninstalled. then install speedswitchxp and switch it to "max". http://www.diefer.de/speedswitchxp/index.html does that help? What soundcard do you use? Thanks but it won't help. I use a tascam us122l asio. ...

cpu 100% because of GUI

I run ableton 7.0.2 and having some serious problems (also on 7.0.1). The CPU usage I see in my taskmanager is always near 100% The GUI is also very unresponsive, and makes my soundcard stutter. When I resize the ableton window and make it smaller CPU load decreases and everything goes well, but tha...

You're force closing the computer everytime you finish with it? That can't be good... You could use AutoHotKeys to write a script that closes live and shuts down your computer with a single press of a key. You could get a £5 usb numpad keyboard and use that. Thanks good idea also! Hibernate would b...

No you can't, live is considering you crashed. Maybe you can save your set as default template but you will have to find a way to shutdown properly instead of forcing a taskkill command all the time. There is some option in windows allowing you to quit application properly when turning the power sw...

prevent recover project popup.

Hi, I made a live 7 project configured with guitar effects and my midi footswitch. Now I run the pc headless (without monitor and keyboard). After startup it runs ableton automatically. Works pretty well, but ran into a problem: since I can't shutdown ableton correctly (it's asking me to save my cha...

It would have been ideal if you'd recorded your acoustic guitar with two mics into two seperate channels... Chorus can give you some space and widen things out with some reverb. But, you would be best served recording the part again into another track so you can pan the two tracks slightly to get y...

widen / open up the sound

Hi, I recorded some acoustic guitar music (mono) and want to add some singing. Now I want a stereo output result. What I would like to do: record the singer in mono and center it. Open up / widen the acoustic guitar so you hear it right & left, but less in the middle. I hope some of you understand w...

I have a footswitch and want to use it for looping in live 7. The footswitch maps to a keyboard key. short press = i.e. key "a" long press = i.e. key "b" That's all that's possible. Now I'm trying the angstro looper but I don't know on which knobs I should map my keys to get something like this: sho...

I own a HD25 for 5 years now and it's an amazing headphone. Good build quality. Sound Quality is awesome, fits very good. I used it for dj-ing at large party's (2000) people with a huge amount of speaker power, but had no problem to hear my cue signals. Tried out many others, but none can beat it. t...
