Stop Sampler 'clicking' with crossfades?

I like to use SAMPLER with long chords, and loop and highlight a section within the sample. I put the longest crossfade on, and hit the RAM button to put the sample in RAM for quicker access time as I like to "scrub" through the sample randomly to come up with different loops and textures (I also ad...

Re: Megamixes - Warping older tracks, staying in time?

Right so you mean like this : https://youtu.be/r5Cs7Y7KbiA So if I have one track that is the master tempo, it means I can put a loop underneath and the loop follows all the tiny movements in the tempo which is good for back-beating a 'wobbly' live track. But what about when I mix into the 2nd track...

Re: Megamixes - Warping older tracks, staying in time?

thank you Angstrom! This is interesting! So is it saying that you only need to warp one 'leader' track, really well? and the others follow? (I haven't personally heard of this setting tbh) Do you know of any real world examples of this or youtube videos to explain what it means? as this sounds like ...

Megamixes - Warping older tracks, staying in time?

So I've been an Ableton user for a few years and love it. Still on 9.7.7 on Mac. I am looking at doing some old school Megamixes especially disco and funk from the 70's and early 80's and as we all know (that million dollar question) they are not locked to a metronome, as they drift due to live drum...

Slice Markers forgotten??

I'm using Live 9.7.7 and use Simpler with its Slice feature a lot. However when I put a sample into Simpler, and slice, (slice by beat) at say 1/4 division with NO warp, as I like getting unusual loops. I then move only the start marker (so the other slices move accordingly), then save the project, ...

Acer Aspire 5742 i3 Ableton 10?

I am just about to take stock of an older Windows 10 64-bit, Acer Aspire 5742 i3 processor, 8GB and 500GB HD. Does anyone know if this is good enough to run Ableton 10 with a small to medium session (mostly audio samples, and not VST's)? I am thinking of putting a 2nd SSD inside as a boot up drive, ...

Re: Core 2 duo laptop for Live 10?

Well, core 2 duo is the absolute minimum and that's what you have. Install the demo and let us know. Don't expect it to run like a charm though. One solution would be to find a second-hand copy of say Live 8 or 7 which surely would run better on an older machine. yes i do currently have and still u...

Re: Core 2 duo laptop for Live 10?

Heres the system recommendations: "OS X 10.11.6 or later Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor (Intel® Core™ i5 processor or faster recommended) 4 GB RAM (8 GB or more recommended)" L10.1 is running the same as L10, so yeah grab the demo and see how it performs on your machine. The i5 Part might be the bit w...

Re: Core 2 duo laptop for Live 10?

Have you tried running a demo to see how it goes? EDIT: Sorry, just noticed this was specifically asking about 10.1, not 10. I'd imagine it would perform much the same. Yes good idea, but my laptop still has a standard old drive and 4GB on Windows 10 32, so if this was worth it (or not) then i'd up...

Core 2 duo laptop for Live 10?

Just asking if an older core 2 duo laptop would be ok for Live 10.1? I have a c2d 2.4ghz with Windows 10 64 and thinking of adding an internal ssd and 8gb I don’t really use any vst plug ins apart from a few fx as I use a lot of simplers Just asking if this would work ok as I know it won’t be the fa...

Drag Loop from Live into Logic in BPM / Warped?

I have rewired Ableton Live to Logic, so they are both in sync. I am using Logic Pro X and Live 9.7.7 However if i want to mix in Logic as a final master, can I drag out of live's arrange window and into Logic X's arrange window (onto an audio track) and the loop be in time? I can drag out easily fr...

Can this be done in SIMPLER?

I am usually using Simpler with slice mode, but within the same track, i'd love the start point of samples to move (not automated) but moved so item 2 (on the same track) would have a different start point to Item 1? I cannot see a way around this? All I have been doing is duplicating the whole trac...

Simpler 'Slice' Question Automate start point?

Is this possible? I am in Simpler SLICE mode, using a full track, but wondered if i could automate the start point so i can record the start pint and move it within sections of a song? I am sure there was a workaround for automating the start point? but I need to be in SLICE mode in SIMPLER if that ...

Can SAMPLER start be automated?

I am using Live 9.7.7 and wondered if there was any way to automate the start point of SAMPLER when i am in SLICE mode? Either by a macro, MIDI controller or automation line so this moves around with automation that can be recorded? I have attached a pic of what I mean exactly :) https://photos.app....

ADSR on Simpler 'slices'?

Does a simple ADSR envelope exist for Simpler? I usually drop in a Sample, and select slice, then use the % value on transients to chop up the sample. However sometimes I get clicks, and in general would love to use a simple ADSR envelope to 'shape' the slices. Am I being stupid, or is there not an ...
