That looks incredibly easy to use and you have to admit, it's more intuitive to have the WAVEFORM distort visually in the timeline, rather than the way LIVE does it, by having us distort the markers on a fixed timeline in a seperate window.

Yeah, yeah, I know, it shows up in the 'arrange' view but ...

"Know of any OS X alternatives?"

Yeah, I'm on OSX and although I don't know of a VST plug that does it, I recommend Audio Hijack Pro ($32, creates recordings in the standard .wav, mp3 or .aif formats) from Rogue Amoeba software, amazingly useful, already updated for Leopard too...

it might ...

"i dont even know if I will upgrade to 7 and that will be a first for me. I have had every version since version two. four was the best and is still very usueable if you dont need the mid. Theres something very fluent about four."

I agree, I got a lot done with that version and I'm still on 5 right ...

Jay Dee, what a guy. Unfortunately it took his absence to get people on his jock like they are now...

I only have one disagreement:

"A lot of the time during the 70s they really didn't care about their levels"

I actually think the 70s are the best decade for recording quality: Analog studios and ...

Sorry to join in late, but...

...This feature is really important to me. I want it; I chalked it up to 'this is different type of program in 1.5, I mused how it would be helpful in 2 and 3, I wanted it in 4, I missed it in 5, and now I'm disappointed to see it missing from 6.

You can do it SOOO easily in ProTool's timeline by ...

Crossfades... Still AWOL?

I'm afraid this isn't mentioned anywhere as a new feature in 6, I was hoping it would be in Live 5, and now it seems to have been ignored this time too. Please, someone come on and tell me that I'm an idiot that missed the memo that LIVE 6 has cossfades!

If you have ever edited something in ...

I agree, LIVE should really support MP3 files in SOME capacity, all I want it to do is IMPORT mp3s by converting the file to a WAV or AIFF for your session, similar to the way ProTools does.

It would really speed things up - right now I need to dip out into Peak just to convert files... Peak could ...

My $975 Athlon 64 3000+ Laptop runs Ableton with NI Komplete plugins equally as fast, and in some instances faster than a $2,500 Dual 2ghz G5.

But you see, you did sort of say what I'm talking about. And it's cool that your PC works for you like my Macs work for me.

So more power to us, life is ...

McDonald's is faster and cheaper too... Step up to more, son

This has become such a negative thread.

I love it when people proclaim "My PC runs circles around your Mac and it was cheaper!" Is your workflow running circles around mine because you own a computer that you saw a benchmark about? Are you really writing songs 2-3 times faster than me? Editing ...

THANKS!

Nice one... I was really missing that feature. *tears* *sniff* it's still there!

..For Mac users (like me) it's COMMAND+Click ('APPLE' + Click), not 'control'

Thanks again, I knew it had to be in there somewhere.

Live 4 missing a previous feature?

It's a bit tough to explain, but here it goes:

I was wondering if anyone else out there is missing the 'click on the upper timeline area to jump to that point in the song' feature that was in the 'arrangement' window?

Am I going crazy? I have used this program since 1.5, most heavily in version 3 ...
