Re: Why Do DJs DJ? The "Cool Factor"

Because all a dj needs to do is to love music.

We on the other hand, are technics-people and nerds who also like music and get excited by alot of things that normal listeners couldn't care less about.

Re: Circuit Bent Sound

Well, it seems like the op isn't really asking about circuit bending, but how to achieve a very very lo-fi sound. Use a redux and turn the knobs until the sound is on the verge of being too extreme and then slap a tube distortion and a few beat repeats on it. If you want some vibe to the sound you c...

Re: 'Slice and dice' an audio sample

Or you can use any sampler. If you're on PC, Vember Audio has a free one called Shortcircuit that's awesome.

If you're so sure about this topic being beaten to death and searched, how come you didn't find the 10+ topics about it? Press setting, tap a pad and flip the wheel until you got it mapped to the corresponding note. It's not fucking rocket science and doesn't even have anything to do with ableton li...

Generally: Sampling where you, even if you are familiar with the source material, can't make out what song has been sampled. The Geeky version: Tiny, tiny fragments that are meticulously put together to make an original composition. See: Akufen, though his newer stuff is closer to... The "Mains...

Your best bet would be to cut out all the bass frequencies from it so that you only have the sharper character of it left and then layer a synth bass and a sub in underneath.

I use Modul8 and Arkaos. Both are amazing. Modul8 is the quickest though, i made a 1 hour visual show for live use in 35 minutes and the commissoner loved it. Arkaos is better if you want to do your things live and use midi controllers and "play" the visuals. Edit: Haha, is that me up there?

I know what you mean and yes, that's common with analouge synths, especially fat mono stuff. Duplicate your track two times, pan one to each side and use track delay to delay them slightly, that alone will give you a nice stereo width but why stop there? Hi-pass the panned tracks at 80-150hz, add di...

Yeah if any, the sub-kick should be hi-hpassed at that, and the sidechaining trick that works best with this is to have a constant sine being sidechained by a standard kick for an extra push.. Seems like this guy uses the right techniques in the "wrong" way.

Well, if you need those standard rompler sounds you should look into Kontakt 3. Not only is it the best (in the general publics opinion) software sampler in the game, nowdays it also comes with a GREAT library that will rival any 2000 dollar flagship rompler. So you don't really need to use it as a ...

Yes, i get what you want, but battery is also modeled on mpcs and they still don't have that..........

It's easy to get it going but it's pretty pointless. The PadKontrol is able to do so much more!

So, to answer your question: No, that is not an intended function.
