I've had the same issue with LFO, other devices live Color from MaxForCats etc.

The fix was to force Ableton to use the internal graphics rather than the GPU of my notebook.
I had to re-install the latest driver for the GPU (in my case NVIDIA) and use their tool to set the internal graphics for ...

If you only need outputs i highly recommend the indigo dj - i've been using that piece since it came out and only once had to replace it due to electrical damage ...

umm... i'm not entirely sure if the helix mixers have got midi but they're firewire, both audio interface and an analogue mixer..
