Your post is a testament to the fact that Leftists are every bit as bigoted as they claim Rightists are.

This reminds me of something a Right-winger I know gave me around 2000. Basically it was the characteristics of a nation ripe for Communist/Leftist takeover. It had been written by some Russian politician and scholar 75 years before. True to form, the US met each of the criteria. My point is that, w...

Oh, one more thing. Most of the people who are jumping up and down are doing so because it has been suggested to them by the people they take cultural cues from.

First off, right-wingers are hypocritical jerks who will, post-hoc, mold any fact to fit their worldview. With that out of the way, the reason internet people are taking pleasure at this is two-fold: 1) Most frequent posters on the internet are (psuedo, of course) totally-edgy-iconoclast types. It w...

OP:

I'm assuming you were kidding about the 'puter thing, but on a serious note: a key to getting that good, and doing something people really care about, is getting off the gear-buying train, getting off the message boards, and getting into your music.

Internet Gear Syndrome = you have to have something high-end to get a simple job done.

All kidding aside, even thrift-store or eBay tape that's been recorded on a few times will work fine.

Quantegy 456 is kind of the standard but in truth any brand-name tape will work fine.

I am suspicious of OP's motives for posting this. It comes off as that he just doesn't like veganism and this is a passive-aggressive way of assaulting it. (And, if you disagree with him you must hate babies -- something to that effect.) Correct me if I am wrong here, OP. That being said, the medica...

The Ableton forum is a great place to go if you want to know about the newest gear, but less so to find out about good music, in my experience. Here are some of my favorites FWIW: The Monks - early, early proto-punk and noise: check out 1:15 when they all crowd around the guitar on the floor! http:/...

I love Brian Auger, have a bunch of his LPs.

I could do without Hellacopters -- it always struck me as postmodern rock posturing.

This is interesting. It's a problem that I've been trying to solve as long as I can remember.

For my buck, the best electronic translator of haptic (body) data into musical data is turntable, mixer, and MPC. It's taken me a long while to come back to that though...

Hi Jeff -- I leave you alone for a few months and you start flamewar threads! I believe in the future, once the extreme leftists and the rightists have been outmoded, the progressive moral code will look something like this: Violence is bad. This includes killing animals and eating their meat, killi...
