What OS are you using?

I'm using a Macbook and MIDI sync works great. Sorry to hear about your issue though.

I tried a Lemur for a few weeks but I returned it. I found the response to be sluggish. I managed to replace a couple of MIDI controllers, a mixer, and a soundcard with the Xone:3D. Having as little gear as possible is a big plus for me. I basically use session view, delay, reverb, and EQ though. Ma...

I think that the playhead in general should be alot more controllable. The start and loop points shouldn't be coupled to the playhead position. The "needle dropping" should be deterministic, not haphazard. (You can do the same thing twice and get a different result). The update of playhead...

Is there a way to not interrupt the playhead?

Hi, around the beta of v5, as I recall, the default behavior was that the playhead was not shifted mid-play -- even if the start point or loop start point was changed. That seems to not be the case anymore, as altering the start point, or loop start point while looping is engaged, both seem to alter...

If you want to make stuff, basically, with traditional synths, MIDI, and samples (but heavily tweaked) I'd look at Reaktor -- as generally speaking, it works on a higher level of abstraction than the rest. PD and MAX/MSP are functionally about the same -- PD has certain little edges and MAX/MSP has ...

Great idea for a topic. I think that Race, like Sex in the 60's or 70's, is the next American taboo to be dismantled. I can feel it like vibration on train-rails. Borat is the discussion of Race dressed up as a naive idiot; absurd enough to be laughed off and made abstract. But, it definitely strike...

Oh, quit complaining noobs. One nice thing about opaque rules is that it keeps lazy, slow, people (these traits, somehow, usually go hand in hand with presumptuous whining) from being involved. I was hacking Ableton when you were still trying to make your guitar sound like Limp Bizkit, so lurk for a...

I tend to agree with the OP's sentiment. I don't necessarily think the entire handful of multi-thousand posters are to blame, but at some point the signal/noise ratio gets so high that good information is lost -- or worse, some people who would post quality get driven off. Someone (probably an multi...

That's the attitude that perpetuates our problems.

My favorite DJs are unknowns...most of them go in and out of jail, vagrancy, etc, and make little or no money from DJing or anything else. I tend to think the spirit of DJing (or the best parts of it) is somehow tied to anonymity or "the collective" or some idea like that, and I generally ...
