I'm going nuts. Whenever I press a key on my Kontrol 49 the 'MIDI track in Indicator' light flashes almost immediately, but the armed MIDI instrument responds about 1 second later. Is this a setting that I've accidentally saved as a default? I think this is the case because anything I open from more...

You're right, it is midi-mapable. Pioneer maybe had something like Traktor in mind when they designed the thing, but there's no reason why you couldn't use it with Live. Check out the type of encoders it offers (on/off buttons, faders, knobs etc) then think about whether it'll do what you need it to.
