When I arm a track to record, it takes input from the master out, in addition to the sound from the selected input (a mic), and the sound from another input (a guitar). here's my in/out settings in Live:
original drum track's "Audio To" set to Master
Master's "Master Out" and "Cue Out" set to 1/2 ...
