What are the most common causes of crashes in different revisions?
I'm on 8.1.1 and haven't had that many crashes - those that I have had have happened when I've tried to load a new patch/preset in a vst's during playback.

Re: Having to reboot after a crash - why?
Nevermind - just discovered that disabling then re-enabling my soundcard via the device manager sorts this out.

Having to reboot after a crash - why?
If I try to restart Live after a crash I usually see this dialogue: Audio is disabled. Please choose an audio output device in the Audio Preferences. If I open audio prefernces and select my soundcard (Edirol UA 25), I get this message: Failed to open audio device "Edirol UA-25" The only w...

Question about triggering clips
Is it possible to configure a clip so that when it is triggered it starts straight away, but does so in sync with global quantization - eg, if it is triggered at the globally quantized 3rd beat in the bar, it starts playing from the 3rd beat of the clip.
I hope that makes sense?

Re: Live's output volume lower other audio devices?
trace the signal path. it's probably that Live accesses your sound card directly whereas the other stuff uses your OS's volume control. play with all those settings and learn about your computer. they're different signal paths. Well, that's what I'd been thinking. I have poked around with the setti...

Yep, that's what I'm talking about - not a subjective 'loudness' issue.logic_user99 wrote: when I switched to iTunes to reference some stuff, iTunes was WAY, WAY louder than Live; not just 'oh, these tracks are mastered' louder, either.

Re: Live's output volume lower other audio devices?
:D I'm just off to get me some popcorn and settle in for this one. Well I hope I'm not about to start a flame fest! Perhaps I didn't explain myself properly. Live is a good deal quieter than other 'default' or common use audio devices on my computer, so that if I've been using Live and I then go to...

Customer Support response time? (It's pretty fast)
What's Abe's customer support like? I've bought a second hand Live8 license. I received a confirmation of license transfer very quickly - the request was made on Sunday and I got a 'Welcome to Ableton' email yesterday. Thing is, the license(s) haven't appeared in my user account. I emailed customer ...

Re: What's the thinking behind educational licenses?
So what's the idea of giving discounts to students, teachers, schools etc? Is it to open a potentially large market - to try and get live to become a standard tool music and multi media courses (almost like a set text). Or are Ableton just being charitable or seeking to enhance their brand image th...
