Basically you can select any piece, drag it down a bit and just drop it in the same place, it will be split without needing ctrl+E.

I've been using another DAW since 2012. I decided to venture back into Live, and immediately I begin to record and edit. Yet, I find right away that I'm hamstrung with ctrl-E. Has Ableton seriously not implemented a snip tool? Please tell me there is a scissor tool.

This is why ableton live was never my main daw and why i won't buy another upgrade unless i'm forced to.

If they fix this i'll upgrade willingly. If they don't, Live will remain a second rate daw for production to me.
