Re: Roland gi 20

Even the best MIDI tracking pickup/interface is only going to track as cleanly as you can play.

Re: Show Flats not Sharps???????

As far as I know every DAW that displays pitch names uses sharps exclusively. Its a limitation with the original MIDI spec itself and just a fact of life in computer music because there are contextual intricacies when it comes to accidentals and key signatures that can be tough to program. For insta...

Re: Question about using an external SSD for sample libraries

Safe, advisable, and definitely faster. I use a 1TB SSD USB-C drive for my live keyboard rig that holds all of my sample libraries (Kontakt, Live, Logic/MainStage, Omnisphere). I would never go back to a mechanical drive.

Re: Modulation mode: Bipolar vs Additive

I’m not sure which device you’re referring to, but the terms “bipolar” and “unipolar” are often used to describe two types of modulation. I’m assuming that “additive” is equivalent to “unipolar.” Bipolar means that the modulation is occurring around a central, unmodulated point in both directions, u...

Re: Specifics of Copyright/EULA (Section 5c)

Number 2 is also not a worry since you can't really copyright a groove or "feeling". Would that it were not so, but this is becoming less true because of recent legal cases like the Pharrell/Thicke and Katy Perry decisions where musicologists who are otherwise well-schooled in their field...

thank you for your opinion but it is nothelpful :-(
because I did not ask you for your judgement
It’s not judgement. It’s advice.

If you would simply soften your tone and be bit kinder with your messages you would probably get more help.

Re: How to edit audio outside live while it's still in live?

RX has been my main audio editor for a few years now. One thing you will want to do is set up some key commands in the preferences. RX is very flexible with this. I use my own key commands for things like fade ins/outs (I use the ‘<‘ and ‘>’ keys for these) and normalization (‘n’). RX is one of the ...

Re: CV Tools: Audio interface and cable adapter question.

Assuming the MOTU can use mono jacks as well as TRS (and I’ve yet to see or hear of an interface that can’t, a mono jack simply carrying an unbalanced signal) I would expect a cable with a 1/4” mono jack at one end and a 1/18” mono jack at the other should work. That's what I use, and that's the so...

Re: CV Tools: Audio interface and cable adapter question.

You can have luck with signals that aren’t frequency dependent when using such a cable (like clocking, as you’ve found), but for anything more you’re going to need special cables to interface with Eurorack. Expert Sleepers are the only folks I have ever seen selling these floating ring cables, but t...

What are you trying to do? Using the FC-300 in Control mode is dead simple to map pedals to functions using Live’s MIDI mapping.

Where is CV Tools?

I didn't have time to do any of the 10.1 beta testing, so I never got to play with CV Tools. Now that 10.1 has an official release I'm itching to dive into it.

But… where is the CV Tools pack?

Just updated(Suite).

I can't find the CV Pack.....

Looked under Packs and nada......
It's called "Creative Extensions" in my pack list.
Creative Extensions isn't the same thing as CV Tools, which indeed doesn't seem to be in the packs list yet.
