My wife's macbook is an even older one (core duo 1,83 ghz) and it run the test @ 66% something like that..

So there's definitely something wrong with your setup (bad drivers for your TC soundcard ??)

ok i'm sending my live set right now...

So, i played my live set yesterday evening and all went really well, no drop out or anything....but i was so affraid that in fact , i used the internal souncard of my macbook pro hooked to a Djm 800.. I also launched Live at the ver last moment before playing....So i still don't know if there's some...

Wrong. Sorry! Give me a link if it's really true! That's the turbo boost speed as far as google told me, and it's only 1.6GHz per core if using it multicore (which you would using ableton). I'd like to be wrong, but as said above, there is no such quad-core notebook processor running at that speed....

Mine is in fact a DELL inspiron 530, Q6600 CPU and 4gb ram and it runs absolutely fine for more than 2 years. I also own a macbook pro and and white macbook so i can easily compare the 3. The macbook pro run the live performance test @51/52% and the Hackintosh @ 27%..(it's a quad vs a duo, so no sur...

in fact, i'm running the beta.....and got it once...
My show is tomorrow, i'll keep you updated on how it went..

it's really a random thing......sometimes i get it 3 times in a row. Sometimes, all is ok. just did a test with latest drivers from MOTU (i was on an oldest version), all went well, but.....i'm still suspicious..i hope it's that.. it seems to happen, when the computer and/ or LIVE is On for a long t...

audio wont play for a a few sec and then continues too....

I also have a MOTU ultralite...

i think i'll play this show with the macbook internal card...maybe the MOTU the culprit ??

you will discover that the same hardware runs Ableton twice as fast with Windows 7 than with OSX 10.6.

Mine is running LIVE exactly the same on win XP and OSX 10.5.8
24/27% in live performance test on both (it's a Q6600 2,4 ghz)
maybe your I7 is not stepping his speed correctly on OSX ???

i'm going to try the 8.1.5 b2 beta for a few days, to see if it's better....

i'm in the middle of rehearsing for an important show, and i'm getting random audio freezing, sometimes LIVE freeze completely (no audio, and the GUI also )for 5 seconds and then it restart...really strange...... i've done a few shows recently and it has happenned once or twice with different setup....
