I had that trouble with a brand new external-hard-drive quite recently.
Same issue.
Different brands, though.

It's your Exernal HDD, i highly think.
Try a different one or buy a new one.
That worked for me.

I shipped back the one that wasn't working.

Hello, I was wondering. Is there anyway to get the best gain for the live-vocal-mic before the feedback ??? great there are several midi control messages. for starters, I think this is good to know Types of messages midi note=changes notes, key number midi velocity=something like volume, or intesity on that key. midi CC(control change)=changing value. eg) for knobs and faders. very useful. take the long way. it's usually better than the short way. difficulty is good. everything is nothing. keep up the effort and u shall receive. cheers ps i recommend to start learning about rhythms from a very easy book. something like for children. trash this file (make a backup first) /System/Library/Extensions/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/ reboot. the speedstepping will be turned off and your machine will run at top speed... and will probably run a little hotter too. then you get the real performance numbers! :D is this only for the intel-ma...
