You need a message after the bang with a note and velocity. This would go into a note out, not a midi out. The message could be 60 90, (Middle C velocity 90)

Windows usually runs on cheaper hardware. Cheaper hardware isn't as good and is owned by more people. Big groups of prey attack more predators. This helps macs seem to be intrinsically better than pcs. Additionally some software/codecs have been designed for macs and never really made it to windows....

Yeah... but because it's achieved through a button push on a class compliant usb 2 device, logically it's got to be somewhere in the api/implemented through the push remote script. ...

A couple of the promo videos have someone record some audio in (either a break from vinyl or a couple of chords from a guitar) and then a button is pressed on push II and the audio clip appears inside a simpler. They can sort of be timestretched as well. Sort of because these features aren't exposed to the api.. which is totally lame. Filtering and comb filtering and spectral freezing all helps though.

I had these problems as well. It's 64 bit Live on Windows. It's rubbish for video. There's plenty of advice about codecs, but I couldn't get it to make a movie or not crash. So I gave up. QuickTime and windows 64 don't work together so well.
