I crossposted because my installation is literally hanging on my PC while I try to get an answer for this, and I figured this forum is more active than max for live. Is it really such a problem for you? Really??

I really hate installing background utilities like PACE and other crap. Is this really 100% necessary to install??

I hate installing extra dongle/resource/background applications, and have never liked pace. Does this absolutely need to be installed to use max for live?

Sigh. Yes, I'm frustrated by a lack of information on this. Seems kind of tricky to be putting out a 8.x beta version at the same time or later than the 9 release/special offer.

I noticed the Beta forum is removed. Will this also be releasing on this date? We are dying out here for a simple 64x compatibility and I want to be sure this is delivered and sound before even considering upgrading.

Yeah, but my question is: will we be forced to update to Live 9 to be able to use Live 64 Bit with Video and Max for Live or not.

That doesn't make any logical sense to me, but time will tell. I don't see it making sense to piss off that many paid customers. Stranger things have happened though ...

That wouldn't make any sense to officially release a live 8 update that didn't include compatibility with other Ableton add-on software marketed to work with live 8. I would definitely be pissed. I hope so. I'm dying to load it onto my new workstation, but I see too many bug reports related to my use cases still. I need a working ready to go version before we transfer things to that machine.
