This same thing happens to me, seemingly randomly as well. Cant figure out why sometimes dragging the loop brace will trigger a snapping zoom-to-loop length, and other times not. :| Another thing - is there still no way to move the loop brace and have the start marker pinned to the beginning of the ...

Okay I found out by messing around that what is happening is that loop length buttons are by default in an "unlocked" state. You now have to hold the note button for them to appear, or press shift/note to "lock" them. I don't understand why anyone would want this but okay... is t...

If I understand you correctly, all you have to do is un-click the button at the top that says "OVR" (overdub). It should be highlighted. Now just arm the track that you recorded the midi on and practice away.

Whats even worse about scrolling through all the packs, is trying to demo one and listen to the different audio examples. You have to wait until the entire clip is done playing to hear the next one... This is a super nice feature especially for certain packs where the first demo is like 1:42 long :r...
