Re: Naming USB devices.
Thanks Anubis - do you mean the USB manufacturer's name though? Problem is, most of the USB Midi cables are identical, so I'm not sure this would help.

Re: Naming USB devices.
Arggh indeed! I reckon they are the names of the device itself - just thought they could be a way round this. It wouldn't be so much a problem if some of the ports didn't occasionally stop working and need the USB cables swapping round!

Naming USB devices.
Hi, Wondering if anyone could help shed some light on this quandary I've got: I've got a number of midi devices (synths/drum machines, etc)hooked up to Win 7/Live 7. They're all connected via those USB/midi converter cables. The problem is that I've got about 6 of them and they're all named confusin...

Re: SPD-S and scene launch
Don't think there's anything that can be tweaked at Live's end I'm afraid (at least not that I know of!) Have you tried adjusting the 'threshold' on the drum pad as well as the sensitivity? Think that's meant to reduce crosstalk between the pads...

Re: SPD-S and scene launch
I've got an SPD30 - as the sensitivity settings are on the the drumpad itself, not Live, I'm not sure how the version of live would make a difference?

Re: Blofeld or Mopho
+1 for the Mopho. Pretty wide palette of sounds. Although I've not got a Blofeld, reckon there's something to be had from getting a analog synth....
The main problem, however, is the encoders are indented and it's not exactly intuitive to program without a computer....

Re: BCR2000 jittery knobs.
My top row BCR knobs don't work when I twist 'em quickly. They're all like that, although strangely, they used to work. Gave up trying to figure out what the problem was, so just avoid using them now...

Re: Midi Thru question...
Cheers Roxx!!
But will the sync signal transmit straight through too, or will this be able to drive the SPD30s clock?
That was my main question, just got tied up in the specifics!

Midi Thru question...
Hoping someone could help with this question: I've got a tenori-on which I want to use synced up to an SPD30 drumpad (without using ableton live) As I don't want to use the onboard sounds of the tenori-on, I'm considering getting a waldorf blofeld. I’m not sure this set up will work though. I’m wond...

Recording videos for Youtube.
Was thinking about putting a few videos up on youtube, always appreciate watching other people's stuff, good way of getting ideas, etc. What's the best way of doing it so it's reasonable quality? What sort of quality webcam do I need - anyone got any recommendations? Also, how does the video sync to...

Re: Anyone here own the Roland SPD-30?
When you say you can link them up... do you mean you hit start in Live and that will start the phrase looper, but they are out of time? Or does that not work either? Can't remember how exactly mine is set up as I'm at work. But make sure the midi sync ports in Live's preferences are enabled and also...

Re: Anyone here own the Roland SPD-30?
I gave up using USB, for some reason the latency was awful. Don't know if it's just my PC, as I can't get my BCR2000 working through a USB connection either. I now use a MIDI connection and that works fine. Take it you've got all the ports set up in Live? Does it work at all? Or is it just out of sy...

Re: Assigning the modulation wheel
Thanks, realise post is a little confusing.. so apologies for that!
It's a BCR2000, so think that makes sense - I was trying to do it through ableton rather than on the controller.

Assigning the modulation wheel
Wondering whether if there's a way to assign a controller knob to act as the modulation wheel? I'm sure this should be pretty easy, but I can't work out how to do it..... Assuming this is possible, is there a way of assigning multiple knobs to act modulation wheels on different channels (so they can...

Re: Mopho or Nanozwerg?
M.o. - cheers for the heads up, I'll check it out. rikhyray - thanks for the advice. Tbh, I found some clips last night of the Nanozwerg, and it didn't sound in the same league as the mopho. Didn't realise that they were that bad though, take it you must have had a bad experience somewhere down the ...
