hey folks... hazzle!

i want my midi arpeggiator to start its sequence, when i press a note. it seems that its running its sequence all the time and untill i press a key i can hear it...

when i set SYNC = OFF and enter ms ... it works... but i need it synced...

be sure to check out your desired controller at a local store. i'm pissed of my BCR because its knobs are that fat, that you can hardly turn them all around at once.

why is everybody hunting for the "perfect" kick? listen to a good tune on your laptop speakers - it will rock anyway. i think it's not the kick / compression / whatever that makes your track a good one.

i think it's about how the samples fit together in a rythmic way. (of course you have to tweak ...

syncopate the kick, with similar sounding things like a low tom.
syncopate the hihats with similar sounding. (i simply use another hihat)

be sure to put an eye on the sounds themselve. how do they SOUND together ...

what kind of music are you playing live?

if it's techno - get a small sampler, sp303 or something. sync it via midi. and sample 2 bars of the last song and let it repeat, while playing with filters/delays on it. then introduce the new kick ... and so on.

i'm not that much into minimal techno but when i'm after a electronic clean-sounding basedrum i use the operator.

i use guitar rigs tapedelay but any tapedelay vst should do the job

me and my friends want to fire up a party for us and our friends, where we're intending to play 90s music.

90's? because we love it!

as you know there were a lot of unbelievable hits in the 90s by bands like ace of base, snow, reel2reel ... but of course maybe not enough to fill ...

you can sync live and traktor via midi. so i would use both to be more flexible...
the tracks in traktor will define the bpm and you can fire your loops in live.

my first thought was:

1) audioclip with your sample looping all the time
2) midi clip with simple operator

assign your keyboard to play the operator and change the pitch of the audioclip. put a sidechained (by the operator) gate on your audioloop.
